After three years of consistent campaigns, the Internal Revenue Service released an updated proposed regulation to clarify the dental calculation for the Advanced Premium Tax Credit (APTC). While IRS almost never revisits or amends regulations, NADP did not falter and instead pulled together a coalition of consumers, providers and carriers, which continued to pursue advocacy efforts, eventually leading to the recent IRS change. View This Post January 25, 2022 Chair’s Corner – July 2016 This month I’m joining my fellow NADP Members in celebrating the successful culmination of many years of hard work on behalf of our industry. Recently NADP scored a major advocacy win on one of our top two priorities and made significant progress on the other. Our top two advocacy priorities have been 1) a change in subsidy calculations in public exchanges to include pediatric dental and 2) equitable markets on and off the exchange. View This Post January 25, 2022 Chair’s Corner – August 2016 In less than two weeks, dental benefits professionals will gather in San Antonio, Texas for CONVERGE 2016, the premier professional development event for the dental benefits industry. One of my favorite aspects of CONVERGE are the volunteer group meetings that take place on Monday. I am really looking forward to dropping in on as many their meetings as possible. Seeing our volunteers in action is quite impressive, and the work of the volunteer groups showcase the value of NADP membership.
