View This Post January 25, 2022 COVID-19 Quick Scan Surveys Because helping members navigate the economic and public health impacts of the COVID-19 is a top priority, NADP launched a series of quick-scan surveys focused on dental plans’ response to this unprecedented global event. These quick scans are easy to complete and provide members’ colleagues insight into the dental benefits industry’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The surveys are launched every two weeks, and results, when appropriate, are published in the COVID-19 Open Forum and available to members only. View This Post January 25, 2022 CMS Delays Implementation of the Interoperability Rules The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced a 6-month delay in implementation of the Interoperability and Patient Access final rule (CMS-9115-F). The rule, which would require Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) dental plans to develop provider registry and patient data APIs will not be enforced until July 1, 2021. View This Post January 25, 2022 NADP Obtains Clarification on Small Business Funding for Dental Benefits On April 14 the Small Business Administration (SBA) released a supplemental final rule providing significant clarification on how small businesses determine their maximum loan eligibility and the threshold under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) – a program that provides small businesses with loans of up to $10 million to cover costs during the COVID-19 pandemic and economic downturn. Through the new clarifications, NADP has determined that dental benefits premiums paid by employers would be considered part of “payroll costs” in the PPP and therefore count towards the 75% threshold for loan forgiveness.
