NADP is pleased to announce the nomination of three long-term volunteers for the 2015 Gabryl Award:

NADP provided timely, diverse educational content through its stellar annual conference, CONVERGE 2015, and the Educational Webinar Series.

When I stop to think about the current activities at NADP, one word comes to mind: “transitions.” There are both internal and external transitions that will have a tremendous impact on our organization for years to come. These transitions often bring about important changes as well.

To add value to Associate memberships, the NADP Board of Directors recently approved creation of the DSO Advisory Council.

As a service to our members and the dental benefits industry, NADP annually collects information from member plans about their participation in the federal healthcare marketplace.

On April 14 the Small Business Administration (SBA) released a supplemental final rule providing significant clarification on how small businesses determine their maximum loan eligibility and the threshold under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) – a program that provides small businesses with loans of up to $10 million to cover costs during the COVID-19 pandemic and economic downturn. Through the new clarifications, NADP has determined that dental benefits premiums paid by employers would be considered part of “payroll costs” in the PPP and therefore count towards the 75% threshold for loan forgiveness.

On June 25, CMS released an update on their Oral Health Initiative, which sets goals for children’s preventive dental utilization in Medicaid as well as highlighting “promising state practices” for oral health

On Aug. 14, member plan delegates received the initial slate of nominees for the NADP Board of Directors. The slate was developed by the 2020 Nominating Committee, which considered all the criteria for evaluation of nominees, including: geography, company size, association involvement and other factors, i.e. single markets, multi-state plans and form of ownership.

As the representative and recognized voice of the dental benefits industry, NADP advanced your positions among key stakeholders and the media throughout the year. The association also celebrated a key milestone.

On Feb. 10, NADP joined a coalition of nearly 90 companies and organizations including public-and private-sector employers, nonprofits, chambers of commerce, patient advocacy groups, insurers, hospitals, brokers, church plans, unions, and multinational companies in the letter to congressional leaders asking them to include COBRA funding in the next COVID-19 relief package.
