NADP, DDPA and
DentaQuest will be meeting with Kevin Counihan, the current Director of
HHS’s Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO)
mid-July. This meeting will continue discussions from a February meeting
in which the dental benefits industry advocated for the separate
purchase of dental allowing dental to be purchased throughout the FFM
process, not just after the medical policy has been selected. The July
meeting will follow up on the industry’s separate dental request as well
as respond to Counihan’s invitation for input on dental specific
consumer decision making tools. DDPA has initiated an issue brief
on the subject which promotes dental education and transparency while
advocating for the separate purchase of dental. NADP supports this issue
brief to be presented at the meeting.
