NADP Spotlight

By Board Chair Donna Hunter, United Concordia Dental

NADP – your resource and representative

NADP continues to deliver timely core services designed to help our members succeed and advance our industry. This month, NADP represented members of the American Dental Association and delivered the first installment of a new educational program. In addition, preparations are underway for our day on Capitol Hill, Advocacy in Action 2024.

ADA Code Maintenance Committee

NADP has an established seat on the ADA’s Code Maintenance Committee, which governs the Current Dental Terminology®, which drives our businesses. Annually NADP collects industry consensus on Code revisions and represents our members in this process, ultimately delivering the new Code set for the year.  See Terminology Talk and NADP On the Move for more details.

Consortium Pilot

On March 20, NADP launched the Consortium Pilot, featuring a presentation by Milliman on the “Nuts and Bolts” of MLR Reporting.”  This new, interactive educational program offers plans the opportunity to develop tools to meet current challenges affecting a broad section of the membership.  With session attendance much higher than expected, the 2024 Consortium is off to a great start, and we look forward to the future growth of this new learning opportunity.

Advocacy in Action

The deadline to register for Advocacy in Action is rapidly approaching. AIA registration is free and open through March 29. If you haven’t signed up, I encourage you to do so now. AIA strengthens our voice in Washington, D.C. by maintaining and establishing relationships with Members of Congress and enhancing our reputation as the recognized resource for the dental benefits industry.

As you can see, NADP supports several aspects of our businesses and provides multiple programs to address our needs. If you have any questions regarding the direction of NADP, please contact me.
