AIA and more

It’s my privilege to share some highlights about how your association has made multiple strides to advance the industry and NADP this month.

AIA

Thirty-seven NADP members represented the dental benefits industry in Congressional visits with legislators and their staff during Virtual NADP Advocacy in Action, April 26-28.  Members advocated for independent purchase of dental benefits on healthcare.gov and the addition of adult dental coverage in Medicaid. They are also opposing federal non-covered services legislation. For more details, select the Advocacy in Action page from the Events section of NADP.org. (Login required).

State Fact Sheets

NADP recently published the 51 State Fact Sheets, which were used in materials during AIA.  All membership categories receive the State Fact Sheets as part of their NADP membership. I encourage you to download your reports from the NADP Knowledge Center (Login required).

New Clinical SWG

The Board of Directors recently approved a proposal to convert the Clinical Quality Measures Sub-WorkGroup (SWG) into the Clinical SWG under the Terminology, Standards and Transaction Initiative (TST). The Clinical SWG will expand its focus on broader clinical topics including the Dental Quality Alliance (DQA), dental and health integration and social determinants of health. For more information and the process to sign up for the Clinical SWG, see the Terminology Talk article in this newsletter.

CONVERGE Registration

I’m looking forward to seeing you in-person at CONVERGE 2022 in St. Louis!  Registration opened earlier this month and early bird rates continue through May 31. CONVERGE offers both in-person and virtual registration. Visit NADPCONVERGE.org frequently for updates.

Executive Director Search Committee

The Board of Directors has retained the services of Gabryl Award recipient and former chair Jon Seltenheim to guide NADP through the process of selecting our next executive director. In addition, the following volunteers are serving on the search committee:

  • Jeff Album, Delta Dental of CA, NY, PA & Affiliates
  • Stacia Almquist, Unum
  • Ron Bolden, Cigna
  • Richard Jones, Guardian Life
  • Jeremy Hedrick, Careington
  • Donna Hunter, United Concordia Dental
  • Amy Marko, Amy Marko & Associates
  • Theresa McConeghey, Principal

As you can see from the above list, NADP has much to offer. This list captures only the highlights for this month.
