During the Dental Caucus meeting at the X12 Fall 2024 Standing Meeting in Pittsburg, NADP Dental Informatics Director Brian Flynn presented on the dental compact legislation and its possible impacts on dental plans. NADP also represented members on discussions regarding recent cyber breaches, industry action on the 270/271 transaction, electronic funds transfer versus virtual credit cards and better use of Remittance Advice Remark Codes (RARCS) and Claim Adjustment Reason Codes (CARCS). 

ISO TC / SCDI / SCDP

NADP Dental Informatics Director Brian Flynn served as the voice of the dental benefits industry at the recent meeting of the International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee (ISO/TC) in New Orleans. A common discussion thread at the meeting was the growth of Artificial Intelligence at the provider and plan level. ISO/TC focuses on improving dental standards, which are developed to facilitate the international exchange of goods on open markets to ensure the quality of products.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Association

NADP Executive Director Mike Adelberg represented the dental benefits industry during the recent Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) meeting in Denver. BCBSA represents 33 independent, community-based and locally operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) health insurance companies. Adelberg and representatives from Healthscape Advisors and the CareQuest Institute spoke about opportunities and barriers facing value-based dental care.
