Indiana Law on Virtual Credit Cards, Vaccine Administration

Indiana HB 1079 was signed by Governor Holcomb on April 8. The bill, as passed, incorporated an amendment that: 1) clarifies that a dental carrier must notify a dental provider of any fees associated with an EFT or virtual credit card payment before issuing an initial payment as opposed to providing the notification with every payment, and 2) exempts fees imposed by the dental provider’s own financial institution from the notification requirements. The bill also authorizes dentists to administer immunizations. To date, 40 states have authorized dentists to administer vaccines according to information published by the American Dental Association.
