NADP’s Commission on Advocacy Policy (CAP) continues to work with NADP’s consultants, Applied Policy, on statutory language that would reduce the administrative burdens of offering separate dental plans to cover pediatric dental coverage as required by the Essential Health Benefits. CAP is also reviewing language proposed by America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), which applies the voluntary offer of pediatric dental inside the Exchanges to the market outside the Exchange but does not address ongoing regulatory complexities of “reasonable assurance” and “Exchange certification.” Movement on any Affordable Care Act technical corrections is not expected until after the Supreme Court decision at the end of June. Additional updates will be posted in the HCR Open Forum in Dental Interact.
