As in prior years, NADP is working with the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO), part of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to collect important information from stand-alone dental plan (SADP) issuers.
Who: All NADP member delegates and alternates
What: CCIIO has requested that NADP members complete a survey (link initiates an Excel file download) indicating their intent to participate and seek Exchange-certification in the Individual and Small Group Marketplaces for the 2021 calendar year.
When: No later than Monday, February 8, 2021.
Why: CCIIO is requesting this information to anticipate workflows in the plan certification process and to better identify access to dental benefits in the marketplace. As a reminder, the Affordable Care Act requires Qualified Health Plans (medical carriers) to include pediatric dental benefits embedded within their medical policy when a stand-alone dental policy is not available in an enrollee’s service area.
How: Complete the survey (link initiates an Excel file download). Indicate your intent to offer SADP on Exchanges and also specify counties in which you intend to seek Exchange-certification for offerings off the Exchange.
Where: Send the survey to Director of Research Jerry Berggren.
This year’s template format is slightly different from last year, please consult the instructions included with the template for details. If you have any questions about the changes, please contact Director of Research Jerry Berggren
*NOTE to Delta Dental Plans: DDPA is collecting responses from Delta branded business only and not reporting on any non-Delta Dental branded plans. If your company plans to offer a non-Delta Dental branded plan on a state Exchange or as an Exchange-certified plan, please respond to this survey based on that non-Delta Dental plan.
