On August 2, Sens. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Bill Cassidy (R-LA) introduced S. 4739 “A bill to allow additional individuals to enroll in standalone dental plans offered through Federal Exchanges,” which would establish independent purchase of dental plans on federal marketplaces. The bill was read and referred to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions committee.
The introduction of S.4739 is a major step towards independent purchase. NADP is continuing a push for introduction in the House and passing the bill through both chambers.
