2015 Professional Biography
For his leadership and representation of the National Association of Dental Plans (NADP) and the dental benefits industry on a variety of critical issues at the height of Affordable Care Act (ACA) implementation, Forrest M. Flint of Delta Dental of Minnesota earned the 2015 Gabryl Award, the association’s highest honor.
Flint was nominated by the NADP Government Relations Commission for his tireless efforts on behalf of the industry at the height of ACA implementation. His NADP participation includes service on multiple volunteer groups, including the Education Commission, Alternative Revenue Task Force, and the Nominating Committee. Flint also served 6 years on the NADP Board of Directors and was chair in 2013. He was a team player who participated on the Health Care Reform Task Force (now the Commission on Advocacy Policy) during the formation and passage of the Affordable Care Act, supporting NADP in navigating Congress and receiving critical input from members. In 2012 he also received the NADP Star Award for membership recruitment.
Flint has been involved in dental group practice and the dental benefits industry for 30 years. He began his career in dentistry in 1985 at Park Dental as the first chief operating officer of the dental group, and also led the development of MedCenters Dental Plan in Minneapolis Minnesota. He attended his first NADP conference in 1990, which was the second meeting of the National Association of Prepaid Dental Plans.
Forrest Flint joined Delta Dental of Minnesota in April 2015 as the Vice President of Strategy and Innovation and plays a vital role in dental benefit product development. He is tasked with identifying new opportunities for growth and business retention as well as creating strategies to further provider partnership relationships.
Prior to coming to Delta Dental, Forrest was the Director of Dental Plan Relations for Park Dental and The Dental Specialists, where he was responsible for the dental insurance arrangements of the organization. Park Dental and TDS have over 130 general and specialist dentists practicing in over 50 practice locations in Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area of Minnesota and western Wisconsin. From May 2000 to 2012 Forrest Flint was the Vice President of HealthPartners Dental Plan, where he was responsible for the overall performance of the dental insurance plan area of the organization. From November 1996 to 2000, Forrest Flint was the vice president of business development for American Dental Partners, Inc. in Wakefield Massachusetts. Prior to that, he was the executive director of Park Dental in Minneapolis.
