United Concordia Dental Steps Up to Ensure Care is Delivered Safely

Jul 14, 2020

HARRISBURG, Pa. (July 8, 2020) – To protect the health and safety of dental patients, dentists and office staff, United Concordia Dental is extending its supplemental payments to help cover the cost of personal protective equipment (PPE).

For dates of service between May 1 and Sept. 30, dentists in United Concordia’s PPO networks will be reimbursed $10 per patient per visit for members enrolled in a United Concordia insured plan to help cover the cost of providing PPE, subject to member benefits in the group’s plan.

“United Concordia was one of the first dental insurers to help cover the added cost of PPE for dentists during COVID-19,” said Tim Constantine, president and CEO of United Concordia. “Our decision aligns with recommendations from the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Centers for Disease Control to support expanded protections for patients and dental office staff as offices reopen.”

As a leading national dental solutions partner, United Concordia is providing valuable assistance to its clients, members, partners, dentists and producers during COVID-19. “This pandemic is impacting everyone,” said Constantine. “We are in this with our customers and remain focused on promoting their total health and meeting their unique needs.”
