DTA Summit
NADP Executive Director Mike Adelberg presented the Dental Coverage Landscape at the May 5 Dental Trade Alliance (DTA) Summit in Washington, D.C. After highlighting NADP’s advocacy efforts regarding the independent purchase of dental coverage on Healthcare.gov, DTA members decided to advocate on this issue.

NADP members Dr. Cherag Sarkari, LIBERTY Dental Plans, and Jill Purcell, The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America joined NADP Director of Research Jerry Berggren and Executive Director Mike Adelberg at the American Dental Association’s Council on Dental Benefits meeting May 13 in Chicago. The group discussed strategies to enhance employer sponsored dental benefits.
Zelis Conference
NADP Executive Director Mike Adelberg represented NADP and spoke to members about state advocacy topics at the recent Zelis Summit on May 12 in San Antonio.
GUAA
On May 18, NADP Director of Research Jerry Berggren presented the Dental Market Update at the Group Underwriters Association of America (GUAA) Conference in Savannah, GA.

NADP Executive Director Mike Adelberg represented NADP and the dental benefits industry, speaking at SKYGEN TRANSFORM26, May 18-20 in Scottsdale, AZ.
Dental Quality Alliance (DQA)
Dr. Mark Jurkovich, HealthPartners; Dr. Roshani Mehta, Avesis; Kristen Strasheim, LightSpun; and NADP Deputy Executive Director Timothy L. Brown represented the dental benefits industry at the recent Dental Quality Alliance (DQA) Executive and full Committee meetings on May 28-29, in Chicago at the ADA Headquarters.
Dr. Jurkovich is transitioning away from representing NADP at the DQA with Dr. Mehta and Ms. Strasheim replacing him starting at the October 2026 meeting. The DQA is committed to improving patient care and safety through the collaborative development of oral healthcare measures.

NADP News Release – On May 18, NADP distributed a news release, NADP: provider, patient benefits rose; dental plan enrollment fell in 2024. The release included highlights of the NADP 2025 State of the Dental Benefits Market Report. During its first two hours of wire distribution, the release received 3,155 total views, 1,188 unique readers, 57 full placements for a reach of 77.36 million.
