North Dakota Dental Transparency Bill Signed Into Law

North Dakota HB 1154 was signed into law on March 25. The law, which addresses network leasing, prior authorizations and overpayment recovery was significantly modified during negotiations by lead by NADP and its industry partners. On March 9, NADP submitted testimony in opposition to HB 1154, stating that the legislation fails to recognize the fundamental differences between a prior authorization and other communications about benefits coverage which occur frequently between dental carriers and dental providers. NADP’s requested changes to prior authorization language were ultimately not adopted.
