NADP secured several favorable changes to Texas HB 1934, a network leasing and overpayment recovery bill. In addition to ensuring that carriers would be able to provide notices to providers electronically, language pertaining to leasing opt-out and notification requirements during the contract renewal process was removed. NADP worked directly with the sponsor of the bill to ensure that the recovery timeframe for overpayments was increased from 90 days to 180, in conformance with an existing overpayment recovery rule for HMOs in the state.

Connecticut HB 6589, a network leasing bill, was introduced and heard by the Insurance & Real Estate Committee. NADP sent a letter and, through advocacy with industry partners, was able to secure several changes which conformed the bill to the Transparency in Dental Benefits Contracting Model Act adopted by the National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL) in December 2020.
