In 2014, the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) convened a group of oral health experts and produced a White Paper
on dental experience in the Exchanges/Marketplaces. This working group
included NADP, DDPA, CCIIO, State-based Marketplace staff, and various
oral health specialists and consumer advocates. NASHP hosted a call this
month alerting the group they would be releasing a follow up White
Paper with a take-away from 2014 and a look into 2015. The call also
allowed for a few updates from State-based Exchange staff, including:
Kentucky is now able to electronically process APTC for dental (after
the QHP is purchased); Washington had 135,000 Exchange enrollees and
only –seven consumers were eligible to have APTC applied to their dental
policy; Connecticut now has a platform specific to dental, but with
only one dental carrier in 2015.
