NADP Board Elects Officers

DALLAS, Texas – Members of the National Association of Dental Plans (NADP) Board of Directors recently elected the following officers:

Chair: Donna Hunter, United Concordia Dental
Vice Chair: Jeff Schwab, Dominion National
Treasurer: Stacia Almquist, Unum
Secretary: Amy Miller, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina

Hunter is vice president of strategic business development at United Concordia Dental, overseeing corporate strategy, business insights and advanced analytics, corporate communications, and community outreach. She joined United Concordia Dental in 1997 and held numerous positions within Finance and Sales before moving into her current role. Before joining United Concordia, she worked at Sprint and Pennsylvania Blue Shield in Finance, developing cost management models. Knowing that an organization’s culture is key to overall success, she has worked in these roles with leaders at all levels to align strategy and organizational health. With more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, she holds a Master of Business Administration from Mount Saint Mary’s University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Shippensburg University.

Schwab is vice president of marketing for Dominion National, a leading dental and vision insurer and administrator, with more than 20 years of experience in marketing, public relations and corporate communications. He is responsible for leading Dominion’s marketing, public relations and advertising efforts, as well as overseeing the company’s proposals, product development and individual dental program both on and off the exchanges. He helped lead the development and execution of Dominion’s teledentistry program with the goal of improving member engagement, satisfaction and access to dental care. He has also helped spearhead studies that reinforce how integrating dental and medical coverage and care can be associated with improved health and lower costs for those dealing with chronic medical issues. Schwab holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Maryland. In 2019, he was a Leadership Center for Excellence “40 Under 40” award recipient.

Almquist joined Unum in July 2020 as the vice president of Network and market development and has nearly 15 years of experience in the dental and vision industry. She leads the strategic efforts related to Unum’s dental and vision network growth, product development, and as the dental and vision practice leader, works closely with sales and underwriting on market development. She manages a team specifically overseeing Unum’s product marketing and strategy, dental and vision network development and recruiting (DHMO, PPO, and vision), dental and vision network operations, Unum’s Dental HMO plan in California, and dental and vision clinical management.

Miller is the dental product sales director at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, focused on local and national large group accounts. In her role, she is responsible for directing and leading the development, implementation and management of product design/strategy, network development and sales leadership for dental products and services. Her expertise helps maintain a competitive advantage and ensures that group dental products, are at or exceeding industry standards.

Prior to joining BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina in 2018, Amy held dental and behavioral health network management positions at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee for 15 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management, magna cum laude from Bryan College and holds a Yellow Belt designation with Six Sigma and Lean Processing.

In addition, Immediate Past Chair Jeremy Hedrick, Careington International, serves as a non-voting ex-officio member of the executive committee. The NADP Board of Directors includes nine voting representatives from dental plan members. Additional board members are:
