NADP Advocacy Delivers Wins for Dental Benefits and Oral Health

As many legislative sessions wind down, the 2026 legislative cycle resulted in a number of policy outcomes that strengthen the dental benefits system and support access to affordable, high-quality oral healthcare.

NADP advocated for common sense legislation that provides clarity around how dental benefits are delivered, while also helping to prevent the passage of bills that would have driven up costs and reduced access to care. These efforts contributed to the enactment of a new DLR reporting law in Mississippi. NADP also worked to advance bills that ensure choice and transparency for providers, without imposing unnecessary administrative costs on dental benefits carriers, including added flexibility related to virtual credit card opt-ins in Illinois and Louisiana

Additionally, NADP worked to preserve the integrity of dental network structures, which helps keep out-of-pocket costs low for patients, supports consistent access to in-network care, and helps ensure the sustainability of affordable and stable dental coverage.

These achievements are the result of strong collaboration among legislators, regulators, and industry partners who share a commitment to improving oral health outcomes.
