2016 Professional Biography

For more than 5 years, Kirk Andrews strengthened and informed NADP’s advocacy positions on the Affordable Care Act by representing the multi-line carriers’ perspective on the Commission on Advocacy Policy and its predecessor volunteer group, the Health Care Reform Task Force. His insights were critical to development of policy positions that balanced the needs of both standalone and multiline carriers offering dental coverage during this critical period of change.

Kirk was nominated for the Gabryl Award by the Commission on Advocacy Policy (CAP), the Education Commission and Government Relations WorkGroup.

Kirk’s volunteer service includes 5 years on the NADP Board of Directors with service as Board Treasurer from 2012 through 2015. From 2014 to March 2016, he also co-chaired the HCR Task Force as it transitioned to the Commission on Advocacy Policy. Additional volunteer service included the Big Data Task Force (2015-2016), Government Relations Commission/WorkGroup (2013-2016), and the NADPac Committee (2012-2013). As a Board member, he also served as Board liaison to the Communications WorkGroup for two years (2013-2015). His industry positions included Vice President, Health Care Reform for the Specialty Benefits Products of UnitedHealthcare, President of Dental Benefit Providers of California, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of PacifiCare Dental & Vision and Executive Vice President, Business Operations for SmileCare Family Dentistry. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant with Peat Marwick and served on the boards of many publicly and privately held companies.

Today, Kirk is enjoying retirement and spending more time with family, friends, hobbies, and new frontiers.
