Meetings

HL7

Serving as your voice, Dental Informatics Manager Brian Flynn traveled to San Antonio, Texas for the recent Health Level 7 (HL7) meeting, Jan. 18-19. HL7 workgroups develop the content for electronic transactions standards. As voting members of the HL7 Attachments, Clinical Quality and Electronic Health Records Workgroups, NADP advocates for the unique needs and requirements of dental transactions to ensure your company’s operations run smoothly.

X12

Dental Informatics Manager Brian Flynn will represent the dental benefits industry at the winter 2017 X12 Standing Meeting in Seattle, Washington. ASC X12, chartered by the American National Standards Institute, develops and maintains EDI and CICA standards along with XML schemas which drive business processes globally.

PAC Conference

Director of Government Relations Eme Augustini will travel to Key West, Florida for the Public Affairs Council Advocacy Conference, Jan. 30-Feb. 2. The conference offers three learning tracks: grassroots, communication and engagement.

In January NADP provided background information to the following publications:

Commercial Appeal – NADP provided information about the numbers of people covered by dental benefits, both nationally and in Tennessee.

Dr. Bicuspid – NADP provided a copy of the Dental Plan Profile as background for an article about dental enrollment.

Members in the News

  • Health care industry expert Michael Roub has been named Vice President of Business Development for Western Dental & Orthodontics, and its affiliate – Brident Dental & Orthodontic, which is what the company goes by at its Texas clinics. (Read more)
