2008 Professional Biography
Dr. Gene Sherman entered the dental benefits industry in 1994 and became an active NADP volunteer in 1995 by serving on the Statistical Task Force from 1995-2007. He eventually chaired this Task Force in 2002 and received his first Star Award in recognition of his service to this group. He continues his NADP service in this area today as member of the 2010 and 2009 Research Commissions.
During his NADP volunteer career, Gene served on the Board of Directors from 2002-2008 and the Executive Committee as Treasurer in 2003 and Vice Chair from 2004-2008. He has also served numerous terms on the Nominating, Audit and Budget Committees (2003 chair).
From 2004-2005 Gene chaired the Alternative Revenue Task Force where he developed a tool to evaluate sources of non-dues income for the association. In 2004, he received his second Star Award for development, highlighting the work he had done on sponsorships and conference exhibits.
Gene’s NADP service serve exemplifies the spirit of the Gabryl Award. While working to advance the dental benefits industry, he contributed significantly in all of NADP’s core programs.
