PLANTATION, Fla. -
Dental insurer Solstice introduces teledentistry coverage to help
members access a dentist during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Teledentistry services are now available to all Solstice dental members
at no additional cost.
As the pandemic has forced most dental offices to close temporarily,
patients can now conveniently and safely consult with a dentist via
video chat through participating providers within Solstice’s expansive
national provider network.
Solstice members call a designated teledentistry hotline
(1-877-724-9922) and will be contacted by a provider via video chat for
dental services including exams, check-ups, and X-rays. Members can ask
questions and seek medication prescriptions as needed.
“It’s our priority, especially during these stressful times, to
increase access to care,” said Carlos Ferrera, Solstice’s Chief
Operating Officer. “COVID-19 has drastically changed what is convenient
and safe for our members, but dental care is just as important as ever.
Our teledentistry provides access to care so that our members can take
care of their smiles and health efficiently while keeping themselves,
their families, and communities safe,” he continued. “Teledentistry will
continue to be a covered service we use as an option for convenient
care moving beyond COVID-19.”
For more information on teledentistry, the American Teledentistry Association has plenty of resources. Or if you are a Solstice member, you can reach out to them directly here or call 1-800-760-2247, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
