Because advocacy is one of core services of NADP, staff and volunteers advanced your health care reform issues by meeting with key senators and key members of the Federally Facilitated Exchange staff. In addition, NADP also represented our members at the following stakeholders’ meetings:

Kaiser Health News – Reporter Mary Agnes Carey interviewed NADP Executive Director Evelyn Ireland regarding the pediatric dental benefit. – Reporter Jose Pagliery interviewed Evelyn F. Ireland, NADP Executive Director, regarding how medical policies outside the exchanges must include dental for children now that pediatric oral care as an Essential Health Benefit.  - NADP provided reporter Leah Carlson background materials on what consumers should expect under the Affordable Care Act.

Washington Post –Health policy reporter Sandhya Somashekhar interviewed NADP Executive Director Evelyn Ireland about the recent debate on pediatric dental benefits and the health exchanges under the Affordable Care Act.

NADP Press Releases

NADP Press Release – NADP released “Commercial Dental Benefits Enrollment Jumps Dramatically in 2012,” which highlighted the 3% increase (11 million lives) in dental benefits at the end of 2012. The release appeared on numerous websites including MarketWatch and Yahoo Finance and several top-20 markets including Boston, Cincinnati, Dallas, Fort Worth, Kansas City, and Oakland.

NADP Press Release – NADP released “NADP Publishes Consumer Shopping Tips for Dental Coverage in Marketplaces,” which provided examples of the various pediatric dental benefit options in the exchanges. The release appeared on numerous media outlets including Anchorage Daily News, Baltimore WJZ, Houston Chronicle, Minneapolis Star Tribune and WCCO-TV, Sacramento Bee and CBS stations in Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
